On 21 st June 2004 the Farm was taken over by the Goverment of Kerala through a tripartite agreement to distribute half of its area to the landless tribals in Kannur and Waynad districts and to run the remaining area as Farm for the welfare of tribals resettled in the Farm area. Developing infrastructure and other facilities essential for improving the quality of life of the tribals is an important aim of the Corporation.
Free nutritious mid-day meals
The Corporation has started giving nutritious food to the tribal workers of the farm free of cost to improve their health.
Employment for all tribals
The Corporation takes special care to ensure that all tribal settlers are given employment in the farm in one way or other .Simultaneously diversified activities such as promoting Farm Tourism , settingup of Marginal Farms for the cultivation of food grains, oil seeds, vegetables etc are being planned to provide support services to enhance the social, cultural, and economic wellbeing of the tribals.
The ultimate goal of the Corporation is to generate more employment opportunities so as to accommodate the entire tribal population settled in the resettlement area and thereby improve the quality of their life.
