Aralam farming Corporation (Kerala) limited is a fully owned government company registered on 10 th june 2010 as per Companies Act 1956. The main objective of the Corporation is large scale commercial production of plantation & Horticultural crops as well as production & distribution of their quality planting materials and above all to develop infrastructure and other facilities essential for improving the quality of life of the tribals re settled at the Aralam faram land. The corporation takes special care to ensure that all tribal settlers are given employment in the farm in one way or other .Simultaneously diversified activities such as promoting farm tourism , settingup of Marginal Farms for the cultivation of food grains, Oil seeds, Vegetables etc are being planned to provide support services to enhance the social , cultural and economic wellbeing of the tribals. The Corporation has also started giving nutritious food to the tribal workers of the farm free of cost to improve their health.
Aralam farm was originally established in 1970 with the technical assistance of erstwhile Soviet Union and was run by State Farms Corporation of India Ltd (A Govt of India Undertaking) till 2004 . On 21 st June 2004 the Farm was taken over by the Goverment of kerala through a Tripartitle Agreement to distribute half of its area to the landless tribals in kannur and Wayaned Districts and to run the remaining area as Farm for the welfare of tribals re settled in the Farm area .Accordingly 50 % of the Farm land was distributed to the tribals.
